NAOSS Final Essay Competition: SSA, Students' Matter, Others Graced The Event

 


The grand-finale of the essay competition which was organized by the National Association of Osun State Students held at NUJ Secretariat, Osogbo, the capital city.


The program commenced at about 11;45am with the presence of the members of the executive council of NAOSS, the Indigenous  Presidents, Representatives across the Local Governments and the invitees.


Comrade Ayantunji Kehinde, who is the Senior Special Adviser to the State Governor on Students' Matter and Social Organization, when addressing NAOSSITES, submitted that every Naosite should endeavor to note, abide and emulate good effect of association."

He added that " good association births good values. The maximization of good organizational values and cultures only come through association."



The Deputy Speaker of Osun State, the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Honorable representing Osogbo Federal Constituency, were all ably represented respectively. Equally, in attendance was Honorable Engineer Murphy.


Recall that the Students' Union body released a memo dated 27th of July, 2020 wherein 20 participants were shortlisted after the first round of the essay competition and an impromptu essay writing was slated for 12th of September at Osogbo Grammar School.


 Following the results of the second phase of the competition five people were selected based on merit and equally awarded today. One Adeleke Ayuba from Irepodun local government came first as the overall winner of the essay competition.


In line with the foregoing, the 20 participants were also certified by NAOSS and we're encouraged to have made it amidst over hundred submissions that we're received.

When speaking with our reporter, Adeleke Ayuba who is a student of law at the University of Lagos expressed his sincere appreciation to God Almighty and duly showed great degree of happiness as he advised others to keep rolling on the fact that education is the best legacy." On the end note, he equally appreciates the organizers of the competition for feeling concerned about refreshing students' senses even amidst covid-19.
