July10: The death of Afrika, a Colossal Loss Amidst Staunch Unionists - Adewuyi Omotola.

George Iwilade - Afrika.

     On the 10th of this same month in 1999, George Iwilade and 4 others were brutally massacred on the campus of the Obafemi Awolowo University. The only thing that was recorded as their sins, was their stance against cultism on the institution's campus.

      

   Today, the students of the most ideological institution in Nigeria walk freely with no threat or fear of an attack by any member of any secret cult.

       The death of Afrika & ors marked a colossal loss amidst staunch unionists then. Most especially, when the then Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Wale Omole decided to accommodate the killers of Afrika & ors under his canopy by extending a hand of friendship to them.

       But today, the death of those Comrades is being commemorated as the rationale behind "cultism, where's thy sting, cultism, where's thy sting, cultism, where's thy victory?" in OAU.

The blood of Afrika was, & is the purifier of OAU Campus. The cause of his death is laid to rest, at least.

Afrika will forever be remembered for good & the wickedness of the devil shall also trail after him in the books of record.
