The Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs, CONYSSA under the Leadership of National President Amb. Ade Mario visited Ambassador Adekunle Abdul, the CEO of Metro & Castle Ltd., on the 7th November 2021 at his Office in Lekki, Lagos.
In a statement obtained from Amb. Mario's press release which reads in part "this Courtesy visit is part of CONYSSA's effort to bring in like minds and Notable Personalities with proven Capacity in Community Development and Experience in Security Affairs of this Country."
"It was an interesting meeting and very educative one. After Listening to the National President, Ambassador Ade Mario on the Aims, Objectives and the Goals this Organization wishes to achieve and the Journey so far, the Ambassador (Adekunle Abdul) commended the efforts of the Leadership of this Organization for coming up with a massive initiative like this and sparing time to meet the people concerned with Security of live and properties of this Country, He then, drilled us through different Strategic and Tactical approaches that would ease the operations of this Great Organization and equally be beneficial to every Nigerian. He sugeested that, we develop our Website, where people can Rate Police Station, share their various Experiences, Complaints with the Police daily, Publish it and make it accessible to Every Nigerian including All The Heads of Different Police Departments and Divisions including the IG. He said, being recognized by the Security Agencies is one thing, but the other important aspect is to get reviews from the Community which would also be a challenge to any Security Department that's under Performing or not Performing at all.
He also brought our attention to funding."
"He further explains that, this organization needs to have a source of funding or income Generation in order to function well.
He added that, the Youth needs to be engaged with Attractive Skill Acquisitions and Empowerment with tools of the skill learnt. He said, This would bring about sincere Commitment from the Youth, As a miscreant youth is a youth not engaged. He cited so many examples, Personal Experiences in his encounter with some youths."
"He also advices that, we have the right people for each position and every segment of this Organization, right from the Federal, State, Local Government and Town Heads should have a Legal Personnel (Lawyer) this would stop any form of harassment from any Police Station."
"At the end of the, Ambassador Adekunle Abdul promised to support the Organization by funding the Development of our Website, appreciate our coming with a tokey and also be of assistance in terms of Human Development and Capacity Training whenever call upon."
"After our able Amb was done with his advise and sporting speech. The national coordinator move ahead to present letter of appointment as Board of Trustees to him. And Amb. Ade Mario promised to go back to Abuja and start working in the website he talked about."
Comr. Awwal Wuraola Ameenah gave a vote of thanks and also presented the Award by CONYSSA to Ambassador Adekunle Abdul.
