Aragbiji Lauds Oyetola as Mr. Governor Emerges as the Governor of the Year

 

HRH, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, The Aragbiji of Iragbiji has described the selection of Osun state Governor, Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola by BusinessDay newspaper as Governor of the Year 2020' as confirmatory of his financial expertise and managerial acumen. 

In a congratulatory statement issued by Jimoh Olorede, Aragbiji said Oyetola's impressive performance evidenced in his socio-economic transformation, infrastructural overhauling, prudent financial engineering, proactive leadership and inclusive governance are his hallmarks which must have informed the decision of the organisers of the award to nominate him as 'Governor of the Year'. 

Oba Olabomi said; Osun has witnessed exponential growths within two years of Oyetola's governance, adding his inclusive style of governance has rebranded the state and brought development to every sector of her economy. 

Similarly, the monarch acknowledged contributions of the state executive and cabinet members to the advancements and improvement of Osun, saying they are Oyetola's arsenals with whom he has been able to record many giant strides in the state. 

Also describing the Speaker and other lawmakers at the state House of Assembly as development-oriented and supportive, Aragbiji in the statement congratulated them and the entire state on having a visionary and foresightful machinery like Oyetola, who among 35 others across the federation, emerged 'The Best Governor of the Year 2020'. 

The statement said description of Oyetola's governance as pragmatic with tangible transformation above his peers in the country, especially in health, education, infrastructure and security, by the Award Committee made up of eminent Nigerians, is commendable, considering the parlous economic status of Osun as one of the lowest federal allocation receiving states, according to the Federal Account Allocation Committee (FAAC). 

The monarch who expressed displeasure over the low fiscal capacity of the state, especially as further crippled by huge debt profile, commended Oyetola on his efficient financial management with which he has been able to surmount all odds in his purposeful governance of the state. 

Congratulating Osun and the recipient of the prestigious award as he receives the accolade at the Transcorp Hilton Hotels, Abuja today, the monarch however, encouraged Oyetola on higher performance, urging him not to count on his laurels.
